Operating today’s data centers is a multidisciplinary effort requiring a balance between controlling operational costs and maintaining reliability.
Facilities managers are under pressure to reduce cooling costs and increase Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) while IT managers concerned with disaster prevention need to ensure reliability and uptime.
Computer Room Air Conditioners (CRAC) must satisfy the demands placed on them by increased server rack density and be sized to support capacity expansion as the worlds appetite for data increases.
Facilities managers require temperature and humidity performance data to evaluate and adjust hot isle / cold isle strategies, baffling, zoning and water cooling considerations and need to integrate this information with their building automation systems though familiar protocols such as Modbus.
IT managers need this same thermal profiling information to support load balancing and transfer strategies monitored through network management tools utilizing Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).
Monitoring systems must be dynamic to support system tuning and qualifications from adds, changes and moves. Wireless Sensors has the solution with its tether free environmental data acquisition system.
Features & Benefits
FEATURES | BENEFITS |
Flexibility | Totally wireless sensors for temperature, humidity and other measurements are fast and easy to deploy. Attach the sensor to the rack and turn it on…the self forming mesh network takes care of the rest. Systems are deployed or reconfigured in hours, not days or weeks and sensors can be added or removed without any reconfiguration. Embedded gateway architecture supports stand alone operation or integration with existing systems through multi-protocol support. Sensor data can be used for disaster prevention with integral alarms via email and SMS messaging or for EPA Energy Star benchmarking purposes. |
Reliability | Multipath mesh networks provide redundant paths for sensor data and frequency hopping radio technology eliminates effects of interference to support the most stringent disaster prevention program. The system is self healing and all communications acknowledged and checked for errors. Demand no less from your environmental monitor than your customers do from your data network. |
Economical | Enjoy the benefits of granular measurements without breaking the bank. Start small with a few sensors or instrument each rack with inlet, middle and exit point measurement for rack gradient measurements. Our system is the lowest cost of ownership of any system on the market. |
SensiNet Sentry Series Smart Sensor – Product Family
The new SensiNet Sentry product family builds upon the field proven reliability of the SensiNet wireless network with all new packaging and exciting new features. A custom designed housing provides attractive packaging with a unique wall mounting bracket and increased air flow allows the high performance embedded MEMS sensors to react even faster to changes in ambient conditions. The new design also provides a separate, enlarged battery compartment containing a “C” sized battery for dramatically extended operational life.
Rack Sentry Multi-Point Temperature Sensor
The SensiNetRack Sentry is a wireless temperature monitoring device and component of the SensiNet wireless sensor network. It reports highly accurate, real-time ambient level temperature measurements, without wires, and is FCC and CE-approved for license free operation worldwide.
The Rack Sentry utilizes a solid state sensor in a unique configuration for ultimate installation flexibility. Individual sensors are “daisy chained” using standard CAT5 patch cables. Up to three sensors are supported as standard and these sensors can be added and or reconfigured in the field. The system simply recognizes the attached sensors and reports temperature with virtually no user configuration. The Rack Sentry utilizes highly accurate, MEMS solid state sensors and a replaceable “C” size battery provides years of reliable operation.
Temperature and Humidity Smart Sensor
The TEHU -2121 data acquisition Smart Sensors is a wireless temperature and humidity monitoring device and component of the SensiNet wireless sensor network. It reports highly accurate, real-time ambient level temperature and humidity measurements without wires and is FCC and CE-approved for license free operation worldwide.
The TEHU-2121 utilizes a highly accurate, embedded MEMS solid state sensor and is available in an embedded configuration for ambient applications. A replaceable “C” size battery provides for years of reliable operation.
Temperature Smart Sensor
The TEHU -2120 data acquisition smart sensor is a wireless temperature monitoring device and component of the SensiNet wireless sensor network. It reports highly accurate, real-time ambient level temperature without wires and is FCC and CE-approved for license free operation worldwide.
The TEHU-2120 utilizes a highly accurate, embedded MEMS solid state sensor and is available in an embedded configuration for ambient applications or with tethered sensors for monitoring chambers or multiple points from a single unit. A replaceable “C” size battery provides for years of reliable operation.
Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) Smart Sensor
The TEMP-1022/1122 & TEMP-1024/1124 data acquisition Smart Sensors are wireless temperature measuring devices that accept either 2 or 4 standard RTD’s and are components of the SensiNet wireless sensor network. They report highly accurate, real-time temperature measurements without wires and are FCC and CE approved for license free operation.
The TEMP series is configurable for RTD type and configuration (2, 3, 4 wire) and even monitors the inputs for integrity and provides alarm indication in the event of sensor or lead wire failure. They operate from on board batteries or may be DC line powered for continuous operation.
